Achieving a Simple Win

Quick Win Alert: How to Master Your Money Today

Hiyaaa Friends!!!

Happy Fridayyy šŸŽ‰. This week, nothing outstanding happened ohh wait, my everyday life is exceptional and cool šŸ¤.

Whatā€™s in this letter āœšŸ¾

Whatā€™s Rimi Up To!

So something cool actually happened; I was mentioned as one of the Top Finance Influencers in Canada! Iā€™m always iffy about being called an influencer. I like to call myself a content creator. What do you think, have I influenced youā€¦šŸ˜…

I tend not to sit in my emotions a lot, so when I first saw this recognition, I was like, "Oh, nice." But the next day, it really hit meā€”girl, people are recognizing the work youā€™re doing! I feel so grateful for this journey and for the opportunity to impact others and help increase financial literacy.

Most of us are walking through life blind, without the financial knowledge that could completely change our life trajectory. Itā€™s incredible what the right knowledge can do. Iā€™m so thankful to be a part of helping others find that clarity and empowerment.

Speaking of the right knowledge, The Millionaire Next Door has my mind blown. Thereā€™s so much wisdom in this book about what real wealth looks like, and I canā€™t wait to share a summary with you next weekā€”stay tuned! šŸ’”

On another note, Iā€™m back to work like back to work, going into the office 2 times a week šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø, not a fan of that this winter šŸ˜Ŗ.

Also, I know it is too early to ask about goals but buttt.. letā€™s talk about achieving a simple win toward your goals.

Like you, I suspect šŸ˜Œ, I didnā€™t jump into my goals as soon as the year started. Instead, I just kept up with my usual habitsā€”even after writing out my quarterly goals on a bingo card.

If youā€™re curious, hereā€™s the template if you want to give this goal-setting method a try! šŸŽÆ

This week, I finally started working on my goals, and hereā€™s what I did:

  • I booked an appointment with my doctor for full blood work because a healthier me is a priority this year.

  • I also started back at the gym, which means sleeping early. Clocked 3/4 times this week (Progress pictures soon šŸ‘€)

  • I also brought out the puzzle I'm working on this quarter, I just laid it flat out in my room. I didnā€™t finish any of my three puzzles last year, but this time, Iā€™m determined!

So this is your motivation to take action, It shouldnā€™t be complicated; remember, it should be simple.

Also, to my fellow #NoFoodDelivery gangā€”Iā€™ve been experimenting with new recipes, and my favorite so far is rice with sautĆ©ed shallots & Brussels sprouts, chicken breast, and avocado. It was chefā€™s kiss šŸ˜˜.

As a Nigerian, itā€™s taking some getting used to not having white rice with stew, but this combo was so good. If youā€™ve got any fun recipes to share, please send them my wayā€”Iā€™m always looking for new ideas!

What cool thing did you get up to this week, remember you living your life is so cool so Hit "Reply"šŸ“² and let me know

MONEY TEA with Rimi šŸµ

Letā€™s get into it!!!

  • The first Canadian Carbon Rebate went out on January 15th, I got $140, how much did you get? Itā€™s a government program designed to return the money collected from the federal carbon tax directly to individuals and families.

  • Canadians' Financial Stress Mounts Despite Interest Rate Cuts, Driven by High Living Costs and Debt. The survey by Ipsos showed that Canadians are $200 or less away from being able to pay bills.

  • Food Prices and Housing Inflation are still high and would in fact impact the headline inflation. There are concerns about a continuous rate cut by BoC.

  • The S&P 500 faltered a little by 0.21% on Thursday vs the TSX having a one-week high to close at +0.23%. Remember, the goal is to be diversified, irrespective of whatā€™s happening in the markets.

  • In preparation for the 2025 Tax Season, the CRA has refreshed the CRA website for easy sign-in.

(PS: Iā€™ll be doing a Tax Series in February to help you file your taxes)
